海角社区 Healthcare Experts to Present at ASHE 2025 PDC Summit

Georgia World Congress Center, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd., NW Atlanta, GA
Sunday, March 9, 2025 - Wednesday, March 12, 2025
8:00 AM - 10:45 AM EST

Join our team at the upcoming American Society for Healthcare Engineering, commonly referred to as ASHE, 2025 PDC Summit in Atlanta, GA.

Principal and Senior High Performance Designer, Coral Pais, PE, LEED AP, Senior Associate and Project Architect Elizabeth Dolinar, AIA, and Senior Associate and Project Architect Hans Walter, AIA, will present a session titled 鈥淚mproving Healthcare Design and Delivery through Prototype Post-Occupancy.鈥

This session will explore a post-occupancy case study used to improve the design of an ambulatory care prototype.

It can be challenging to measure success in something as subjective and experiential as the built environment. Research helps a team to objectify demands and codify priorities to support positive compromise. Evaluating the current state of occupant satisfaction and building operations allows teams to improve processes, prevent repeat mistakes, and inform more sustainable design decisions. Evidence-based analysis can support the value of design interventions that influence project outcomes.

Coral, Elizabeth, and Hans will share their experiences as members of the design team that conducted this analysis.

Learning objectives include:

  • Exploring how to integrate varied data sources to improve internal team processes, project design, and constructability.
  • Describing the collaborative process between a design team and client in making data-informed decisions that balance institutional priorities with design intent.
  • Using data to generate design opportunities and value propositions for clients and stakeholders.
  • Discussing the importance of pre- and post-occupancy data to inform design that improves project outcomes and builds relationships with clients.

Their session will be held on the last day of the conference, Wednesday, March 12 from 8:15 鈥 9:15 AM. They will be accompanied by Jessica Pfister, Director of Operations at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
