Join our leading experts at the upcoming AIA Women鈥檚 Leadership Summit 2024 in Chicago. Principal and Global Leader of Equity, Diversity, and Belonging Jessica Bantom, Senior Associate and Senior Planning Leader Korey White, AIA, and Senior Principal and K-12 Education Leader Carmen Wyckoff, AIA, LEED AP, will host a workshop titled, 鈥淒esign for Identity鈥.

Jessica will provide an overview of her book, Design for Identity: How to Design Authentically for a Diverse World. She will share how successful design honors humanity, celebrates diversity, promotes equity and inclusion, and ensures the profession mirrors our growing world.

Korey will present real-life project examples, including the Austin Independent School District Long-Range Plan 鈥 an example of our pioneering equity-based planning process.

Carmen will present our design for Pat Tillman Middle School, exemplifying independence, agency, and freedom of choice for students.

This dynamic workshop shares how to grow your team’s cultural competence, emphasize the lived experiences of end users, and empower women designers to authentically express their identities in their work and interactions with clients and the community.
