海角社区 Relocates to New Office in Manhattan

(NEW YORK, September 7, 2019) 鈥� 聽has relocated to a new office space at 33 East 33^rd Street. The need for a new, larger space is a result of rapid growth of the Culture+Performing Arts, Healthcare, and Higher Education practices in New York, and subsequent increase in staff. The new 7,500-SF space in the Midtown South/NoMad district will enable the 20-person design studio to deliver more sophisticated design for its domestic and international clients. It also provides dedicated spaces for design collaboration with local clients and is large enough to ultimately accommodate 50 staff members.

We are growing and 海角社区 is excited to have an even larger voice in New York City鈥檚 uniquely creative community. Our new, open workplace is a highly collaborative environment. It provides our integrated design teams with additional meeting areas and dedicated maker spaces including a model building shop and a specialty design mock-up and presentation lab.鈥�

The New York office opened in 2009 and is a principal studio for our practice. Senior designers in New York lead 海角社区’s acoustics, lighting, and theatrical design disciplines globally. The office is leading design for a $150 million expansion of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the $35 million Players Centre for Performing Arts in Sarasota, Florida, multiple projects with the聽, and a design program for performing arts venues in China. Designers in the New York office are also part of the design team for an聽, the first Ismaili Center in the United States.

The studio is currently leading multiple projects at the SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology. for a聽聽outside Philadelphia, which is modeled as a net-zero energy and carbon building. The project is registered for the聽
