Two Awards for 海角社区's Design of Carbon Neutral Dining Facility

(DENVER, June 22, 2023) 鈥� 海角社区 has won two awards for Swarthmore College Dining from the Rocky Mountain International Interior Design Association鈥檚 annual BEST Awards: the BEST Award in the Eat & Drink category and the BEST of the BEST Award for 2023.

IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapter鈥檚 BEST Awards recognize interior design projects that go above and beyond, truly encompassing Brilliantly Executed Spaces and Thinking.

The team's commitment to equity and environmental stewardship for the Swarthmore Dining Facility is remarkable. Utilizing the data we gathered from student engagement sessions and pulling inspiration from the arboretum and surrounding environment to guide the design process; this facility is one of a kind.鈥�

The Judges鈥� Comments describe the project, 鈥渢he build is pure, simplistic, timeless, and will last generations to come. The concept of trees and nourishment is evident in the material selection and timber construction method. The high curved roof/ceiling and full-height views support this concept. Living Building Challenge accepted and crushed.鈥�
